Harveen Kaur, 2017). Christians proceed under the Indian Divorce Act, 1869 (§10), Parsis under the Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act, 1936 (§32), Muslims by way of talaq, khula, mubarat or judicial divorce under the Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act, 1939. The Special Marriage Act, 1954 (§27) is the secular alternative.
